Pristine GazeCanada

Independent equity research for Canadian retail investors.

Institutional-grade analysis, written in plain language, for the investor Bay Street tends to overlook.

Pristine Gaze Canada

If you’ve subscribed to research services before, you know the pattern. Reports arrive in your inbox. Some are useful. Some are filler. When you have a real question — about a position you’re holding, about a stock that wasn’t in the report, about something you read in the news — there’s no one to ask. The email goes unanswered. The “support” line connects you to a chatbot. The relationship is one-way: they publish, you read, they get paid, the conversation ends.

That’s the gap we built Pristine Gaze Canada to close.

Every subscriber — even at the single-report level — can pick up the phone and talk to someone who knows the report, knows the position, and knows the market. You get the published research, plus the conversation that helps you act on it. We cover the sectors that matter on the TSX and TSXV — Financials, Energy, Materials, Industrials, and the small caps that institutional research walks past. The reports are written for the investor making real decisions: entry zones, position sizing, what would change our view. Not sixty-page decks. Not vague “buy” ratings. Just the work that helps you decide.

The experience grows with time. As we get to know the kind of names you follow, the conversations get sharper. The research stays neutral and independent — but the relationship gets personal.

Research you can read, and a team you can actually talk to.

Our footprints

Pristine Gaze Canada was founded by the team behind Pristine Gaze in Australia, who spent years covering the ASX for retail investors. Canada is a separate company — separately owned, separately run, and responsible for its own research. What carried over is the method and the people who built it, not the coverage: everything we publish here is Canadian, about companies listed on the TSX and TSXV. Those frameworks held up through small-cap mining cycles, big-bank dividend runs, and momentum trades that didn’t all pan out, because they were built around the questions investors actually face — not the questions that fill a sixty-page sell-side deck.

Canada is the natural next chapter. The TSX and TSXV carry the same shape we know well: heavy resource exposure, a financial sector that anchors the index, and a retail market handed mostly recycled American research. The frameworks transfer; the conversations get richer; the names get Canadian. Same craft, a different exchange.

How we think

Three frameworks shape every report.

Fundamentals first

Cash flow before earnings. Balance-sheet quality before headline growth. A management team's actual record before its forward guidance. The unglamorous stuff that decides how a five-year hold turns out.

Technical timing

Knowing what to buy isn't the same as knowing when. We read chart structure, volume, and sector rotation to mark entry zones — not as a mechanical system, but as a check on conviction.

Risk discipline

Position size tends to matter more than the pick itself. Every report names the downside case, a level where the thesis breaks, and what we'd need to see to change our minds. If an idea is speculative, we call it speculative.

Where we stand apart

1

You can talk to us. Subscribers reach a real person who knows your reports and your positions. Not a chatbot, not a queue, not a generic support inbox.

2

Concise reports, written for action. Eight to twelve pages — what to do, why, at what price, and what would change our view. Not sixty pages of context you'll never finish.

3

Follow-through, not file-and-forget. Open positions get updates when the thesis evolves. If we change our view, you'll know on the record, with the reasoning.

4

Coverage where institutional research stops paying attention. The TSXV and the smaller end of the TSX — where the asymmetric opportunities tend to live, and where most other research declines to look.
