Privacy Policy

How we handle your information.

Effective: September 1, 2026

What we collect when you subscribe

Your name, email address, and any optional details you provide (phone, country, areas of interest). We do not take card payments on this site — there is no checkout here — so we never see or store a card number. Payment is arranged with you directly. When you read our reports on this site, we log basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) to detect fraud and improve the site.

What we collect if you have not bought anything

You do not have to be a subscriber for us to hold your details. Three things on this site collect them, and each one tells you at the point you use it. The live chat asks for your name, email address and phone number before it opens, and we keep the whole conversation — everything you type and everything we reply. We use it to answer you, and to see what people are asking so we can improve the answers. It is not used for marketing. The report-request form on our editorial articles collects your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and postal code, so we can send you the report you asked for and follow up about it. We only save it if you tick the consent box. The newsletter signup collects your email address. You then have to click a link in a confirmation email before we send you anything — if you never click it, we do not add you.

IP addresses

We store the IP address the request came from alongside chat conversations, newsletter signups and report requests, together with your browser type. This is to detect and block spam and abuse — automated form submissions are the reason it is there. We do not use it to build a profile of you or to track you across other websites.

Your activity in your account

If you have an account, we record a short history of what you do in it: signing in, opening a report, and adding or removing a holding in the portfolio or watchlist tools. You can see this yourself on your account page. We use it to show you where you left off and to answer questions about your own account. It deletes itself automatically after 180 days.

How we use it

We use your information to deliver the research you subscribed to, respond to your questions, process refunds, send occasional service updates, and comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketers. We do not use it to train AI models.

Where it's stored

Your information is not all stored in one country, and not all of it is stored in Canada. In Canada. Your account record — your name, email address, subscription history, any phone or postal details you gave us, our notes, and your support conversations — is held in a MongoDB Atlas database in Canada Central (Toronto). Outside Canada. Running the site depends on services that store data elsewhere. Resend sends every email we send you, and receives your name and email address to do it; its sending infrastructure is in the United States. Cloudflare stores our PDF files, which includes your invoices — an invoice carries your name and email address — in its Eastern North America region, in the United States. Vercel hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs, including the IP address your requests come from; those are held in its Washington, D.C. region, in the United States. Google Analytics measures how the site is used — the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and the type of device and browser you use — and stores that in the United States. It does not receive your name, email address or account details, and we do not use it on our administrative pages. It sets cookies in your browser to recognise a repeat visit. Telegram carries our support chat and internal alerts: it receives your first name, the page you were on, and whatever you type into the chat, but not your email address, phone number or account details. Telegram does not store this data in Canada. If you sign in with a Google account, Google handles that sign-in. What that means. Personal information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of the country it is stored in. It may be accessed by the courts, law enforcement agencies and national security authorities of that country, under the laws of that country, and we cannot prevent that. We remain responsible for your information wherever it is processed. We are subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Where it's accessed

Our back-office and customer support team operates from our India office. All staff accessing your information are bound by confidentiality obligations equivalent to those under Canadian law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as you remain a subscriber, and for 7 years after your subscription ends (to meet Canadian tax and business record-keeping requirements). Chat conversations, report requests and newsletter records are kept until you ask us to remove them — we do not currently delete them on a timetable, and we would rather say so than describe a schedule we do not run. Your account activity history is the exception: it expires by itself after 180 days. The spam-prevention record of form submissions — an IP address and a timestamp, with no name attached — is deleted automatically after 30 days. You can request deletion at any time — see Account Deletion.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to know what we hold about you, to correct inaccuracies, to withdraw consent for marketing communications, and to request deletion of your account. Contact hello@pristinegaze.ca.

Marketing emails

We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You will only receive marketing emails from us if you have actively subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email hello@pristinegaze.ca to opt out of all marketing communications. Service emails (account confirmations, payment receipts, password resets) will continue as required by your active subscription.

Cookies

This site uses essential cookies for authentication and session management, and one that remembers an open chat so it is still there if you refresh the page. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We will post changes here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers.
